Automate 3D printing with Chizel

Chizel Prints is a digital factory for on-demand manufacturing using 3D printing & CNC. Brucira collaborated with the Product Lead and designed a one-of-its-kind platform that helps users share the requirement in a simple file format, get a delivery quote and receive 3-D print consignment at his doorstep without any logistics cost.

For Chizel, we simplified the quote and ordering experience to make the core functionality clear and intuitive, reducing cognitive load while enabling faster, more confident decisions.
The core challenge was to simplify how users place orders and receive quotes on Chizel. While the platform is a market leader known for high-quality output, the ordering experience carried a high cognitive load, making the primary action – ordering 3D objects in different materials and colours less visible than it should have been.
We needed to bring the quote and order flow to the forefront, reducing friction caused by fragmented screens, multiple email-based steps, and visual clutter. The goal was to build greater trust in the prototyping process through thoughtful, confidence-building design, while creating a faster, more intuitive flow that reduced operational overhead and made navigation feel effortless.
We designed the solution to simplify the printing journey while actively guiding users through each decision. The interface uses a strong hero visual supported by contextual elements to immediately surface the platform’s core functionality. Grounded in market research and analysis of existing customer behavior, the experience responds to users’ familiarity with printing technologies and their expectations from the product.
A paperless, modular workflow allows multiple files to be uploaded and processed independently, reducing friction while enabling easy corrections. Material options and processes are woven into the flow to educate users at the right moments. For returning customers, archived orders create a faster, more personalized experience by preserving past requirements and delivery details.

The final experience redefines how users move from idea to production on Chizel. By reducing cognitive load and foregrounding the core actions of uploading, configuring, and quoting, the journey feels faster, clearer, and more intentional. Complex decisions around materials, pricing, and processes are simplified through guided interactions, while a paperless, modular flow enables flexibility without losing control. The result is an experience that builds trust, improves efficiency, and supports both first-time and returning users with equal ease.
